Lansen has changed from delivery term EXW to FCA, read about why and what it means here ->

Our standard delivery-terms are as below

General Terms of Delivery SEAL 2012 applies to transport and logistics services

https://www.lansensystems.com/SEAL2012.pdf

- Our sales are based on Free Carrier (FCA) – Lansen Warehouse, Halmstad, Sweden (Incoterms 2020). Under FCA, the seller is responsible for making the goods available for pickup at our warehouse, where they will be handed over to the buyer’s nominated carrier. The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for the freight, logistics and all costs beyond this point.

- If the seller arranges freight as a service to the buyer, it could be handled under separate freight terms (e.g., DAP), and a handling fee will apply. However, this does not modify the FCA sale terms, and all risk and responsibility transfer to the buyer once the goods are handed over to the carrier at our warehouse.

- Dangerous Goods Notice: If the goods include dangerous goods (e.g., lithium batteries), the buyer must ensure that their nominated carrier is authorized and certified to handle and transport such shipments in compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., ADR, IATA, IMDG). If the chosen carrier does not meet the required standards, the seller reserves the right to deny the pickup. In such cases, the buyer must arrange an alternative solution, or the seller may assist in booking freight under separate freight terms, subject to additional fees. The seller bears no liability for compliance failures by the buyer’s carrier after pickup.

- The delivery date refers to the estimated shipping date from our warehouse and is subject to change due to external circumstances.

- We reserve the right to suspend deliveries if the buyer has an overdue invoice.

- All prices are in EUR, unless otherwise specified, and exclude VAT.

- Our warranty covers faults in construction and materials based on the agreed specifications. The warranty does not extend beyond these specifications. Batteries and battery packs are not covered under warranty.

- Our liability is strictly limited to the agreed product specifications. The seller shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including but not limited to production downtime, loss of profits, penalties, or claims from third parties. The buyer agrees to indemnify and hold the seller harmless from any claims arising due to improper transport arrangements made by the buyer.

Change in Delivery Terms: From EXW to FCA

To improve clarity, compliance, and logistics handling, Lansen Systems has changed its standard delivery term from Ex Works (EXW) to Free Carrier (FCA) — while keeping the pickup location the same.

Here’s what that means for you, the buyer:

What is the difference between EXW and FCA?

Risk & Responsibility Transfer Point

Buyer assumes risk and responsibility when goods are made available at the seller’s warehouse

Buyer assumes risk and responsibility once goods are handed over to the carrier at the seller’s warehouse. Seller is responsible for loading

Customs Clearance Responsibility

Buyer handles all customs formalities, including export (not ideal for non-EU buyers) and import

Seller handles export; buyer handles import

Why the change to FCA?

  • Legal compliance for customs: In Sweden and the EU, submitting export declarations requires an EU-based entity. Under EXW, while the responsibility technically falls on the buyer, it often creates a significant practical challenge for non-EU customers to arrange.
  • No extra effort for you: You still arrange pickup at our warehouse with your forwarder or courier.
  • Cleaner VAT processing for intra-EU shipments.

Practical impact for you:

  • Nothing changes in how you book or arrange pickup.
  • You still use your preferred carriers (e.g., FedEx, DHL).
  • Our documents will now show FCA - Lansen Warehouse, Halmstad, Sweden (Incoterms® 2020).
